Description:
The Position
Peninsula College seeks a creative, thoughtful, and collaborative leader to serve in the capacity of Director of Financial Aid. Under the general supervision of the Associate Dean for Enrollment Services, administer federal/state/institutional/other financial aid and scholarship programs and provide technical direction to staff. Develop and refine policies and procedures to ensure all state and federal regulations and reporting are followed. Within a Guided Pathways framework, the Financial Aid Director provides vision, guidance, and focus in developing and implementing financial aid services that contribute to the progress and successful completion of certificates and degrees for our student population.

Essential Functions
Provide leadership in the development, implementation, and administration of a comprehensive range of goals and programs within Financial Aid.  Organize, direct, and supervise all the activities of the Financial Aid Office.  Create and implement policies and procedures to ensure accurate financial aid awarding based on federal, state and institutional regulations.  Monitor and reconcile all federal, state and institutional financial aid accounts.  Represent Peninsula College at Financial Aid meetings locally & regionally.  Develop program budgets and maintain fiscal and program accountability.  Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations. Complete federal and state compliance reports.  Monitor financial aid SBCTC implementations, requests and changes. Maintain job descriptions of staff and perform yearly evaluations.  Maintain financial aid processing calendar and timelines (deadlines, FA refund dates, 5th day).Provide direct service/financial aid advising to students.  Conduct financial aid information sessions/workshops for students and the community.  Evaluate and Process appeals.  Manage the financial aid information content for web site.  Based on institutional and departmental surveys, develop the Administrative Unit Plan for financial aid in coordination with other student services departments.  Collaborate with other student services departments to create, implement and analyze student satisfaction surveys.  Participate in Strategic Enrollment Management planning and implement goals identified for FA Services in cooperation with Student Services administrative units.  Participate in Guided Pathway planning and implementation efforts identified for FA Services in collaboration with the Pathways Steering Committee.  Serve on various college work groups and committees as necessary.  Build and maintain positive interdepartmental relationships with Student Services representatives as well as other academic and administrative units to promote student success and a positive campus community.  Other duties as assigned.

 

Duties of the position require knowledge and experience
3-5 years of progressive responsibility within a Financial Aid Office.
Three years of demonstrated leadership skills including supervisory, budgetary, and support a team environment.
Duties of the position require the ability to work as part of an administrative team and support a team environment.

Required work schedule and work environment
Follow building schedule, typically 8-5.

Employment Terms
Annual full time, exempt position.

Starting salary: $80,000

Peninsula College contributes $939.00 per month towards the cost of the Washington State employee insurance programs. The college also supports professional development.

Qualifications:
Required education or certificates
Bachelor's Degree.

Desired Qualifications
Master's Degree.  Excellent Communication skills.  Demonstrated intercultural competency skills and commitment to equity and inclusion.  Community College Experience.  PeopleSoft experience.  Knowledge of and experience with the development and implementation of Guided Pathways.
