Description:
This position provides supervisory and administrative support for the timely awarding and reconciling of financial aid awards. The position promotes the enrollment objectives of the University by assisting the director and associate directors with the management of the Operations Center, including mass packaging of student aid, and ensuring compliance with relevant federal and State regulations. This position leads efforts directed towards the integration of financial aid programs with the Offices of Admissions, Student Business Office and Assistant Attorney General. Serves as a member of the office’s management team, ATeam, which directs all office activity, including, but not limited to, planning, supervision, staff training, public presentations, serving as liaison with appropriate offices and agencies, communication, developing and implementing policies and procedures, regulatory compliance, fiscal management, report preparation, and day-to-day activities of the office.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree

- Minimum of 4 years of financial aid work experience at a college or university administering federal and/or state aid, with demonstrated ability to accurately interpret and comply with financial aid regulations

- Excellent communication skills

- Proficient with MS Access, Excel and Word- Supervisory or lead experience, with demonstrated ability to effectively plan, organize, prioritize, and delegate tasks to meet deadlines

- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently within a highly computerized, dynamic work environment

- Demonstrated ability to calmly manage conflict and change in the work environment with positive results

- In accordance with Federal regulatory requirements, the incumbent must be in good standing on any outstanding Federal Title IV loans

- Demonstrated ability to effectively provide services to diverse students and families

 

Preferred Qualifications

- Master’s Degree

- Demonstrated experience working with a Financial Aid relational database, writing data queries and reports using tools like SqlDeveloper, BiQuery, or MS Access

- 2 years experience working as a financial aid professional reviewing aid applications, performing verification, making professional judgement changes, award revisions, reviewing financial aid satisfactory academic progress petitions, and giving financial aid presentations

- Direct experience working with Banner Financial Aid software and/or NOLIJ Imaging software system
