Description:
Everett Community College is recruiting for a team member who has the desire to help students navigate financial aid requirements, while maintaining a quality services attitude and culture in the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office. This position will contribute to student success within a dynamic student services team in a collaborative, inclusive, diverse workplace.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a high volume, high energy, student-oriented environment answering questions, solving problems, and providing creative ideas for improved efficiency.

Provide on and off campus financial aid outreach, workshops, and presentations.

Perform a wide variety of tasks in support of the Student Financial Aid office, including: coordinating one or more financial aid and/or scholarship programs; providing direct customer service to students, staff, and/or faculty; communicating detailed financial aid or program information to internal and external customers; reviewing applications; and awarding financial aid.

Typical duties:
• Evaluate and determine student eligibility; award federal, state and campus awards adhering to federal and state financial aid regulations.
• Perform income recalculations using professional judgment.
• Assist implementing and developing college policies and procedures governing financial aid programs and awards.
• Assist with monitoring satisfactory academic progress.
• Provide support when needed to Front Desk Staff, including responding to email inquiries, answering phones, and returning calls.
• Assist with daily financial aid disbursement authorizations.
• Reconcile financial aid awards as an ongoing process.
• Use Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and other database software.
• Represent the institution at pertinent federal and state financial aid meetings and workshops.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the team in achieving its service objectives.
• Effectively prioritize unplanned but required job duties with ongoing confirmed deadlines.
• Negotiate priorities according to campus need while considering rules and process requirements.
• Coordinate the Workforce Funding/ WorkFirst awarding processes.
• Liaison to the Workforce Funding staff.

Qualifications:
• High school graduation or equivalent
• Three years of experience in financial aid OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Work experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work under stressful situations and manage stress appropriately.
• Ability to accomplish repetitive tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
