Academic Diversity Scholarship – Full resident tuition scholarship to promote ethnic and cultural diversity on campus. Ena Harris Berger Scholarship – For Native American, single women with financial need, transferring to Central Washington University and has demonstrated leadership and community involvement. Avista Corporation Scholarship – For minority students in any program of study. This scholarship is privately funded.

Chicano Education Program Scholarship – For Chicano/Latino students. This scholarship is privately funded.

Ethnic Studies Presidential Scholarship – For minority students new to Eastern Washington University; renewable for one additional year with a 3.5 GPA. This scholarship is privately funded.

EWU Ethnic Studies Scholarship – For minority students with demonstrated financial need. This scholarship is privately funded.

Minority Business Education Scholarship – For minority students majoring in a business related field. This scholarship is privately funded.

Pemco Educational Scholarship – For minority students majoring in education. This scholarship is privately funded.

Wittenbach Scholarship – For minority students majoring in a health related field. This scholarship is privately funded.

Seafirst Foundation Scholarship – Awarded to minority students majoring in business who have transferred from a community college to Pacific Lutheran University as a Junior and who have financial need. Prior Seafirst Minority Scholarship recipients may receive a renewal award as a Senior if they have a 3.0 grade point average. Students who receive a Provost Merit Award are ineligible. Rieke Leadership Award – Recipients of the award are men and women of any background who demonstrate their leadership in promoting racial and ethnic diversity at Pacific Lutheran University and beyond. Recipients are expected to participate actively in both curricular and co-curricular activities in a multi-ethnic context. Need is not a requirement for this award. The Glenn Terrell Presidential Program – This WSU scholarship opportunity, which recognizes, fosters and rewards academic excellence. Awards are based on merit, regardless of financial need. Three level of awards ($1000, $1700, $3500) are available to incoming full-time freshmen and transfer students. The $1700 and $3500 awards are renewable based on academic performance.

WSU Alumni Association Scholarship Program – The Alumni Association at WSU offers awards to entering freshmen students who demonstrate leadership potential and have achieved at least a 3.3 high school GPA. Awards amounts vary and a separate application must be completed.

Miscellaneous Scholarship Program – WSU offers a variety of scholarship opportunities with a wide range of criteria and award amounts to all WSU students.

Associated Students Diversity Scholarship – One $750 scholarship is awarded to a student who has shown a commitment to diversity and diversity education on Western Washington University’s campus. This scholarship is privately funded.

Bill Reed Scholarship – One $1,000 scholarship awarded to a full-time, undergraduate African American student with a minimum 3.0 GPA. All majors may apply, however, preference is given to business and computer science majors. This scholarship is privately funded.

Garfield High School Scholarship – One $1,000 scholarship is offered to entering freshman student of color from Garfield, Franklin, Cleveland or Rainier Beach High Schools. This scholarship is privately funded.

Hispanic Merit Scholarship – One $500 scholarship is awarded to an entering freshmen of Hispanic descent whose permanent residence is in Skagit County. This scholarship is privately funded.

Mary Barnes and Violet Malone Black American Women Scholarship – This scholarship is awarded to a Black American woman who had been accepted for undergraduate or graduate study in the Woodring College of Education. Preference will be given to students who have been out of school for at least three years at some point in their academic career and are over 25 years of age. This scholarship is privately funded.

Multicultural Achievement Program (MAP) Scholarship – Approximately 90 $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to students who demonstrate solid academic abilities, strong leadership qualities, and commitment to multicultural issues and activities in school or the community.

Northwest Indian College Scholarships – Graduates of Northwest Indian College entering WWU who have need for financial assistance. This scholarship is privately funded.

Puget Sound Energy Minority Scholarships – Two $2,000 awards are available, one to an entering freshman and one to a transfer student entering with an AA degree from a Washington State community college. Criteria include a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and involvement in community service and multicultural activities. This scholarship is privately funded.

Puget Sound Energy Leadership Scholarship – One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a minority student entering their senior year. This scholarship is privately funded.

Safeco Business Scholarship – Four $2,000 scholarships are awarded to minority students whose major is either Business Administration or Management Information Systems. This scholarship is privately funded.

U.S. Bank Minority Scholarships – Five $2,000 scholarships are awarded to undergraduate majors in the College of Business and Economics who are members of one of the following ethnic minority groups:

  • American Indian
  • African American
  • Hispanic American
